Phone Habits
Phone During Commute
Use transit time to rest or reset, not just scroll.
Why This Habit Is Harmful
A commute is rare uninterrupted time, but you default to scrolling and arrive home as drained as you left. You miss a chance to decompress, plan, or simply be, and the day blends end to end with no mental buffer.
How to Break It
- 1Alternate days: one day book, one day music, one day nothing.
- 2Try a "phone-free commute" once a week.
- 3Use the time for a podcast that teaches something.
- 4Practice a short breathing or gratitude exercise.
- 5Notice scenery instead of a feed.
Healthier Replacement
On transit, listen to one song or idea you chose, or just watch the world go by. Deliberate use beats autopilot scrolling.
